Traditional batik uses a wax-resist dyeing process on fabric. Students will use melted crayons to paint their honu designs on muslin, decorative pillow covers (18”X18”). The pillow covers will then be dipped into ocean blue dye. Once the wax is ironed out, a colorful honu will remain. All materials will be provided. Students are to bring a lunch and waterbottle. Class size will be limited to 9 students.
