A little over a week ago, I received a viewer's request to demonstrate how to draw a cat. Thank you! I love hearing from my viewers! I decided to show how to draw a realistic cat from a photo using pencil. This video is part 1 of the process. I often use the analogy of making a cake when I am teaching my student's the importance of drawing the layout of basic shapes before adding the fun details. The layout of the basic shapes is like the cake and the fun details are like the frosting. You wouldn't have a place to put the frosting without the cake, so, this video is the cake of our cat. (Hopefully, that makes sense.) To start your drawing, you will need a sheet of paper, a pencil, and an eraser.
